Its about customer experiences not the process - Wolfgang Career Executive Coaching
Its about customer experiences not the process - Wolfgang Career Executive Coaching A guest blog tying United Airlines and Amazon together!? Well here you go! Coach Wolfgang The United Airlines scandal caused me to realize something very concerning about how I performed at my job. So let me ask you about your job do you focus on customer experiences more or do you put more attention on executing your tasks according to internal processes? United Airlines followed procedures In case you arent aware, United Airlines had authorities forcibly remove a passenger from his seat back in April. It was caught on video. Turns out that the flight was full but they had to accommodate a few flight attendants that needed to get on. When no one took their offer for free flight credits, they selected 4 passengers at random to kick off. One of the four refused and United Airlines called the cops. The man had a few minor injuries from the ordeal and is suing United Airlines. The video went viral and is a nightmare public relations situation for United. The United Airlines CEO originally said, essentially, that his team âfollowed their proceduresâ when they had authorities physically remove the passenger. Itâs a response he regretted. A day later, he said it shouldnât have happened and apologized. He also said that he hadnât put the process in place for his staff to adequately handle the situation. Amazon focuses on customer experiences During the same week, Jeff Bezos CEO of Amazon sent a letter to his company and pointed to a reason behind their success: they focus on customer outcomes and resist simply performing their tasks by following their processes. He states that as organizations become large, oftentimes âthe process becomes the proxy for the result you wantâ and they stop looking at the customer experiences they want. It stunts innovation and can even get you into trouble. (Was he referring to United Airlines??) Oh no. Were guilty. I look around at the company I work for and I see this focus on the process and doing what someone says rather than a focus on customer experiences. For example, Iâve looked at a lot of marketing materials, website copy, sales calling scripts, etc. and I can see that everyone is âplaying it safeâ and making sure that what they say or write doesnât deviate too far from others. Plus, most of these materials have the writer in mind, not the customer! Oh no! My company is filled with people who believe success is achieved when the follow the process correctly. They have no concept of what makes great customer experiences! Iâm not innocent here but it concerns me that the customer experience isnât higher on our list of priorities. I see aspects of this in the way our sales team is trained incentivized, in the ways we try to market our products, the way we follow-up on potential clients, even the way we make our products and choose which new features to add. Its all a series of linear decisions where each step is about following the rules rather than delighting the customer. The list goes on. Opportunity to change Maybe all of this is natural since we are a mature, established company. Yes, everyone else is doing it so its no biggie that we are too. Im bringing this up, not to be cruel, but to call out an important aspect of our job: to focus on the outcomes we create for prospects and customers. This is a huge opportunity for us. Our objective is to deliver effective results, however, I donât think that means we need to stay within our current parameters, processes even mindset all the time. We need to know the process, follow it to get things done but then spend time questioning the process, the content, the issues and the customer experiences we deliver. We need to keep from accepting our internal rules processes as our goal and, instead, question those and make creating a great experience for customers our goal. So which are you doing?

How to List Magna and Summa Cum Laude on Your Resume (+ Examples)
How to List Magna and Summa Cum Laude on Your Resume (+ Examples) When it comes to resume-writing, most job-seekers understand the importance of focusing their attention on how they list their skills and work experience. After all, hiring managers need to see those qualifications to know that a candidate is truly capable of doing the job. Unfortunately, many job applicants fail to give that same level of care to their education section. Many simply note where they went to school and when â" ignoring other potentially relevant details. Take Latin honors, for example. If you graduated with impressive honors, you need to mention it in your resume. In this post, weâll show you the right way to list Latin honors on a resume with examples (magna, summa, and cum laude honors). Do your honors matter? Of course, some candidates might wonder whether employers care about those honors at all. The reality is that some will and some wonât. You can pretty much assume that companies will be impressed by the achievement, though. Latin honorslike other educational accomplishmentsdemonstrate a commitment to excellence that all companies want to see. They say a great deal about your character, drive, and competence. For those reasons alone, they need to be included in any resume. How to format magna, summa, and cum laude honors Be sure to use the proper format when including Latin honors in your resume. Doing so will help to maintain that level of professionalism that your resume needs to get noticed. According to experts, Latin phrases and words should be listed using lower case letters. You should also use italics for these phrases. The Chicago Manual of Style recommends using italics for all non-Anglicized, rarely-used foreign words. Example resume listings for magna, summa, and cum laude honors Before you add those magna, summa, and cum laude honors to your resume, it can be helpful to see how other resumes incorporate that information. Weâve provided a couple of examples below. You can use them as a template guide to help you add your own honors to your resume: Superior University â" Anytown, AnyState 2011-2015 Bachelor of Science in Business Management Honors:magna cum laude (GPA: 3.6/4.0) BestNurse College â" ThatCity, ThatState 2007-2011 Associate of Science in Nursing Honors: summa cum laude (GPA: 4.0/4.0) Where to list magna, summa, and cum laude honors To properly list Latin honors on your resume, you first need to know where to place them. While some resume-writers might be inclined to create a separate section to detail those honors, Harvard Law School recommends a different approach. Keep them within your education section, and create subsections under each listed degree. You should have one for your Honors, and another for Activities. That approach helps to keep relevant information organized. At the same time, it provides a way to highlight your accomplishments. Focus on limiting your list to only the most impressive honors, however. You should also skip your GPA if you have those types of honors included. After all, nobody graduates magna, summa, and cum laude without great grades. The only exception to this rule is if the employer requires that information. In that case, just include the GPA next to your honors, in parenthesis. For other tips on what to include, see our great post on the resume education section here. Summary It should be clear by now that your magna, summa, and cum laude honors can be an important addition to your resume. The key is to know when to list them, and how. If you follow these simple tips and examples, you can showcase those honors and truly dazzle any employer. In any close competition between you and several other candidates, your hard-earned honors just might be the difference-maker you need to come out on top!

Ruth noticed, This development is tied in with attempting to discover different pathways for these propelled experts â" pathways that are not really pioneering, since not every person needs to go that course. She noticed that junior colleges offering proceeding with instruction projects can be a superb entreé for somebody who needs to make a vocation move to a reprise profession.
